F.A.Q.

F.A.Q.

There are always so many questions when considering a boudoir session. I would love to share with you the most asked questions and my answers. I also want to share with you some preparation suggestions for a shoot.  I will be happy to discuss any specifics with you on the phone, or even at an in studio consultation.

Q: Can I do my own hair and make-up?

A: We strongly recommend that you do not do your own make-up. We understand that some people are very picky about make-up but our make-up artist works to bring out your best features and is trained in camera makeup. We feel strongly about having professional hair and makeup, and that is why we include makeup most of our package pricing.   There will not be a credit given for skipping this service, because it actually can cause more work in editing if you do your own.

Q: Can I get false eyelashes?

A: Yes, we almost always use false lashes. They are included in your makeup package price. Please let us know ahead of time if you have any allergies.

Q: How long is the shoot?

A:  Your makeover with hair and makeup usually lasts an hour.  Then we go into the shoot, which is either 30 to 90 minutes or more, depending which session you chose.

Q: How long does it take to see my proofs?

A: About 7  days after your session we will meet with you in the studio to see your big reveal and also go over your custom order.  If you are out of town, and can not come in for an ordering session, we can make other arrangements for a same day viewing.

Q:  How long does it take to get the finished product?

A: Once we have the pictures chosen for your album, it will take up to 2 weeks for albums and other products to be finalized and ready for pickup.  Digital and print only orders can be much quicker, generally around 1 week.

Q: How do I pay for my session?

A: You may pay for your session with cash, check, or credit card or paypal.

Q: Do I have to pay a deposit to hold the date?

A: Yes you do need to pay the retainer to hold your date. It is non-refundable retainer but you can reschedule your appointment if needed.

Q: Can I reschedule?

A: Yes you can reschedule once with no penalty, if you notify us at least 7 days before the session. The penalty if closer than 7 days is $250.00 added to your session fee.   If it is less than 24 hours notice you will lose your retainer.

Q: What other products do you offer?

A: We offer albums, prints, digital files, image boxes, calendars, greeting cards, canvas wraps, acrylic block prints, metal prints.

Q: Do I get the high resolution images?

A:  Digital images are available for purchase at your viewing.   We offer High resolution, with printing rights, and we also offer a phone app with low resolution for digital viewing.

Q: Will you use my images on the Internet?

A: We only use those images from clients that have signed a model release. If you do not want your images shown, we respect your right to keep them off the internet.

Q: Do you retouch the images?

A: Yes! We retouch the images that will be printed. We do airbrushing to take away skin blemishes and we can retouch any scars, marks, etc that I client would like removed from a photo.

Q: Can I bring a friend?

A: I prefer that you do this alone, and really enjoy your experience.  I will, however, allow one friend to come with you, but it may affect how comfortable your shoot will be for you.  Even close friends change the dynamic and having someone watch will be distracting in some way.    No men are allowed to watch a session.

Q: Who will be present for my Boudoir shoot?

A: The only people present at the shoot are your photographer, Heather, and the makeup artist and hair stylist will be in the studio doing makeup prior to the session.
